| Andy Cunningham
Pitcher/First Base
“The Bishop” has “blessed” the Pondfeilders with his magnificent pitching skill since their inaugural game in 2001. He also holds the Pondfeilders record for the longest commute to get to a game coming all the way from Los Angeles for several games last year! Currently Andy is back in his hometown of Melrose. He has earned a reputation as a slick fielding pitcher who always “delivers the ball for the striker” as Chadwick’s rules intended. His infectious enthusiasm and jovial demeanor never fail to keep the team loose on game day. This year Andy has further earned a reputation for being a really tough out as a striker. In a recent tournament the crafty striker started no less than three two out rallies. He is also sneaky fast on the basepaths where he records more steals than one would expect. In a recent stint as manager “the Bishop” led his flock to Lowell for a game with the newly formed Merrimacks club. Andy’s brother Paul also plays for the Pondfeilders as well making them one of three brother combinations on the Team.
